fiona & ethan

One rainy, moody Saturday in the wonderful town of New Plymouth in the North Island of New Zealand, Fiona & Ethan tied the knot.

They each started their day getting ready separately surrounded by their crew. Ethan got ready in their home, and Fiona chose a gorgeous airbnb close by to spend the morning with her girls.

We met them again in TÅ«pare Gardens where they had their first look of each other. They embraced so warmly, and took the sight of each other in. Ethan was beyond head over heels at seeing his girl in her dress.

We took this time as an opportunity to snap a few frames as we wandered in the gardens with the two and their wedding party.

Their ceremony was held in the magical Burgess Park in Lake Mangamahoe. It stopped raining just as their guests were arriving. The rain sat on the leaves below our feet and above our heads, making for a spectacularly moody scene. Fiona's Grandfather officiated the ceremony with lots of love and thought put into his words.

The greens and oranges illuminated the love was ever-so present. It also gave off huge twilight vibes, in the best way possible. After the ceremony, we wandered some more and took in the sight that was Mr & Mrs McDonough.

They entered their reception hand in hand, ready to dance the night away. And that they did! They had a perfectly choreographed dance that blew their guests away and set the tone for the dance floor. It was a night to remember
